TerraArt - Nature Paintings
My latest painting: Bach, 2021 - 50 x 70 cm
My acrylic paintings are studies on the essence of nature. I am focused on portraying the natural wonder and complexity of my immediate surroundings. The inspiration for these works comes from my many hours of hiking through the countryside in Switzerland - an activity that has become my form of meditation.
I wish to share these experiences by inviting the viewer to enter into a three-dimensional illusionary space of vibrating natural energy. I consider my painting style to be a form of contemporary realism. My approach to painting is founded on a description of the universe at the microcosmic level consisting of subatomic particles existing in an inseparable network of interactions involving a ceaseless flow of energy and matter which gives rise to the stable structures of the material world.
The main message in my art is that everything exists in a universe that is interconnected and interdependent. Over the years, I have developed a painting technique that uses points of color as a visual metaphor for this particular understanding of the world we all share. The result is an interplay of light, shadow, color and detail that transmits both feeling and understanding of a particular moment and place.
